Washing Your Face: Organic Skin Care

When it comes to a clean face, is not just washing it day and night, but of also taking extra steps to condition it and protect it from the environment. In your facial regimen you should also consider massage, yes your facial muscles would really benefit by stimulating the lymphs and circulation. Using the correct cleanser, such as our Bio-Nutrient Cleansing Milk, it  makes a difference especially if you use the one according to your skin type, avoid bar soaps since they tend to dry your skin.

When you wash your face, remember you are in the process of removing makeup, excess oils, unclogging pores and dissolving dirt. By washing your face you are also removing dead skin cells by exfoliating, which when not removed tend to give your skin a dull, lifeless look.

Now, once you know the cleanser you are using, you need to know how to wash it. You can start washing your face by starting at the forehead and work your way to your nose, then outwards to your cheeks and eventually down to your face and neck. A proper face wash is a really simple way to maintain the health of your skin.

Step 1: When washing your face, make sure your hands are clean from grease, grime or germs. If you have makeup make sure you remove it.

STEP 2: Wet your face completely with tepid water. Anything too hot will shock the skin and could even burst capillaries, resulting in those sensitive red marks usually found around the nose and cheeks. Next, squeeze a dime-sized amount of cleanser onto your fingertips and rub them together. Use your fingertips to massage the cleanser into your skin (anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute) in small and gentle circular motions.

STEP 3: To make sure your have removed dirt and makeup get a face scrubber or towel when rinsing. As an exfoliant gently scrub your face in circles.  Don't forget to include your hairline, your neck and the nooks on either side of your nose when you rinse.

STEP 4: To finish splash your face two to three times with cool water (not freezing cold—again, you don't want to shock your face) to close your pores and then pat your skin dry with a clean towel.

With these practical steps, your face would look and feel clean, refreshed and rejuvenated. In the years to come you would be glad you took extra care to your face washing regimen.
